Athlete of the Week
The Athletic Department would like to recognize the following students for their outstanding efforts during the last week of practice and competition. It is my privilege to also recognize our Athlete of the Week as Mallory Dickinson!
Athlete of the Week
Varsity Softball
Mallory Dickinson
Mallory has been a catcher her whole varsity career, she has been a starter ever game. She is always dedicated and willing to put in the time needed for her pitcher and team. This season alone she has had 50 plate appearances with a batting average of a .366 and an on base percentage of .480. Mallory was able to hit 17 RBI's, 12 stolen bases, 10 singles, 4 doubles, 1 triple and 13 runs. She only was struck out 6 times. Mallory also does a phenomenal job with her fielding percentage of a .977 with 74 put outs and 10 assists. Just in the last game alone against CMVT she had caught two runners stealing at second.
Varsity Baseball
Landon Baldwin
The senior had an amazing week to finish off his strong season. In three games, Landon batted .778 (7-9) with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI. In 12 plate appearances, he only struck out one time. Landon's on base percentage was .833 and his string of hits included 3 singles, 3 doubles, and a triple. Landon added 8 more strike-outs to his season total on the mound as well, bringing his number to 33.
JH Boys Soccer
Chase Preston
One of our most dependable defenders. Calm under pressure. Makes great decisions when to take the ball from opponents. Made a spectacular defensive play against South Williamsport. From the sideline it appeared that South would score a sure goal until Chase sprinted across the penalty box to prevent the shot on goal. Without that effort we would have not won the game. Well done Chase!
JH Girls Soccer
Bailey Bogart
Bailey has shown a quite bit of leadership despite being in the 7th grade while she also has created several chances in front of goal. She shows up to practice every day and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
