Athlete of the Week 2-17

The Athletic Department would like to recognize the following students for their outstanding efforts during the last week of practice and competition. It is my privilege to also recognize our Athlete of the Week as Stella Harney!

Athlete of the Week

Stella Harney

In the one game we played last week vs MMI Prep, Stella scored another new career high of 24 points, she would follow that performance up with a monster night  at Wyalusing scoring 27 of the team's 46 points. She hit 5 3's in the process. Stella then continued her amazing senior season with a 16 point, 10 rebound double double vs @ Montgomery on 2/15. Stella has been the centerpiece of the Lady Griffin Basketball team all season and has proven herself as a highly capable leader and point guard.

Nominations from Coaches

Boys Varsity Basketball

Conner Smithkors

Conner scored a modest eight points, but was a beast pulling in 10 rebounds in a 54-24 win over Benton.  Conner set the tone for us in a dominant first half for our team.  He scored all eight of his points and was a force on the boards as we built a 34-9 lead and cruised from there.

Varsity Wrestling

Michael Conway

Michael has been excellent in practice as of late. He is always on time, works hard, and never complains about anything. Michael is extremely coachable and is looking forward to his last wrestling postseason of his career. Michael is gritty and is always present for team meetings and is accountable for his teammates.
